Lisa Steinmann

Lisa Steinmann is a writer, teacher and artist at heart. She is a barefoot kind of girl who stays grounded with grassroots endeavors. She has taught English to refugee children in the Twin Cities’ public schools, created preschool literacy programs that combined books with creative arts projects for urban kids and she has written about and for children for many years. She received a grant for her work with the Park Bugle newspaper’s Young Journalists program. She is also an award-winning community journalist. Her work has been published locally in the Twin Cities Daily Planet and in national publications such as The Sun literary magazine. She puts her writing and communication skills to use as a grant writer and fundraiser for non-profits. She loves the language of rivers and maintains a website called Word Canoe.
